Safety Tips for Shooting on Public Land-video

No free man shall ever be de-barred the use of arms. The strongest reason for the people to retain their right to keep and bear arms is as a last resort to protect themselves against tyranny in government."

- Thomas Jefferson, of Virginia, Proposed Virginia Constitution, 1776

Both oligarch and tyrant mistrust the people, and therefore deprive them of their arms."

Remember to Buy Your Guns and Ammo before Obama takes them away.

I wish I was Joking!

With a Democrat Congress and Barack Obama in the White House our 2nd Amendment rights will be curtailed. Imagine what type of Supreme Court Justices Obama will appoint. Obama already favors the infamously strict Cook County Gun Laws, which leave crimnals unchecked and honest citizens defenseless. We cannot offord Barack Obama and his anti-business liberal policies. Check out this article I wrote in April about the way Liberals think and act towards problems. I even used the words "Bail Out" to describe what Liberal thinkers look for when a problem does arise.

.416 Ruger

Want a .416 caliber cartridge you can afford to shoot? The new .416 Ruger rifle cartridge offers 4800 ft.-lbs. of energy at the muzzle via a 400-grain bullet traveling at 2,325 fps. Derived by Ruger and Hornady from the .375 Ruger cartridge the .416 Ruger offers big-bore performance at a price that means you don't have to make a trip to Africa just to justify the purchase. At less than $60 a box for ammo you could shoot until your shoulder begs for mercy. Ruger should have their M77 Alaskan and African available now for less than $1000 in either the .375 Ruger or .416 Ruger.

Sig Sauer’s new P250® consist of a modular pistol with changeable grip sizes, calibers and even frame size.  This allows shooters to choose from full-size, compact and sub-compact frames.  The grip diameter is interchangeable, as well, allowing the shooter to completely customize the pistol to suit their preferences.

SigSauer offers options in cartridge size with 9mm, .357 SIG, .40 S&W, and, of course, .45 ACP.

Two trigger sizes offer further customization of the P250®.  The secret lies in the interchangeable trigger assembly of the P250®, which can be taken out of one gun, or off of one frame, and put on another.  This allows the shooter to go from one frame to the next without changing the feel of the trigger and allowing consistency between pistols for easier transitions and increased familiarity across different platforms.

New Products from Hornady Ammunition

Hornady's new "Critical Defense Ammunition eliminates clogging with the use of their patented Flex Tip® bullet. Upon entering soft tissue, the tip swells and imparts equal pressure across the entire circumference of the bullet cavity. The result is unrivaled bullet expansion and performance every single time!" Available in .380 Auto, .38 Special, .38 Special+P, and 9mm Luger.

Critical Defense™       380 Auto 90-gr. FTX      9 mm 115-gr. FTX      38 SPL 110-gr. FTX      38 SPL + P 110-gr. FTX

.45 Colt LeveRevolution®

Hornady introduced thier .45 Colt LeveRevolution® bullets recently. Good news for owners of revolvers or rifles in .45 Colt. the cartridge offers reasonable performance for the old cartridge without risking damage to older Colt revolvers. Hornady loads their new version to SAAMI standards so shooters do not need to worry about damaging revolvers designed to shoot the original black powder versions of the cartridges. The muzzle velocity for the 225-grain FTX bullet is 960 fps. The bullet manages 824 fps at 100 yards with 10-inches of bullet drop.

Overall, the bullet offers a decent compromise of performance without the risk that comes with shooting over-pressurized cartridges out of relatively weaker older revolvers.

.338 Marlin Express

Now available in Hornady LeveRevolution®! The .338 Marlin Express is the first ever long-range, big game levergun specific cartridge to hit the market, and opens a new class of hunting to the levergun. The resulting cartridge delivers astounding ballistics; driving the very efficient 200-grain FTX bullet at an amazing 2,565 fps from a 24" Marlin XLR. The bullet has a B.C. of .430 and matches 180-grain .30-06 ballistics in terms of energy and trajectory out to 400 yards.

While we're talking about medium-bore lever-gun cartridges check out some of the older lever-action cartridges like the .35 Remington, .356 Winchester, and .375 Winchester.

Hornady FTX Component Bullets

Finally Hornady has released their Flex-Tip bullets in component form for reloaders. Hornady will make the flex-tip s available in .30 through .50 caliber bullets for specific applications. Good news for levergun shooters!

Ruger SR9

The Ruger SR9® is one of the slimmest 9mm pistols available. The SR9® is comfortable and controllable, and with a 17+1(The Libs can't like that!) capacity, it packs all the features required by today's most demanding shooters. A must for shooters and law enforcement officers looking for Ruger's legendary reliability, the SR9® is available in Brushed or Blackened Stainless finishes with Black grip frame, or in Blackened Stainless finish with OD Green grip frame. Available in 9x19mm and Ihave seen them at retailers for less than $400-that could be a good deal or a bad indicator. Get it before Obama amd Pelosi outlaw them!

Marlin XL7 and XL7C

Available in .25-06 Remington, .270 Winchester, and .30-06 Springfield the Marlin XL7 comes equipped from the Marlin Firearms factory with a 22-inch recessed-crowned barrel, adjustable Pro-Fire trigger and a pillar bedded reciever. Reviews for the rifle have been favorable while the less than $300 USD "street price" screams out bargain. A synthetic stock (available in Camo or black) and the ability to use any scope bases that fit on the readily available Winchester Model 70 make the Marlin XL7 a practical rifle as well. Hopefully, we will see increased options for cartridges. I would love to a .223 Remington short-action option.

Mossberg's 464 Lever-Action Rifle

Available in .30-30 Wincnester and sporting a 20" barrel and classic good looks, the Mossberg 464 is priced at a MSRP of $493USD. Mossberg also offers the 464 in a rimfire version with a price that Mossberg has yet to announce. you can vote for the next caliber offering by Mossberg in the 464-I voted for .44Rem Mag.

Remember Our Troops!

Soldiers are living and fighting over seas for our freedom. The war against terrorism and our enemies will never end. Thank God we have men land women over there fighting in the deserts and mountains of the middle east. I would love to give these guys the recognition they deserve, but at thier request they will remain annonymous.

Gun news videos for you to watch in the left menu. Gun News articles below!

The purpose of the information given in the news stories is not to persuade or argue a particlular point of view. I think that most visitors to this website understand where I stand on gun rights . I want to provide information to help visitors to this realize the manner in which guns are portrayed in the media. Perception is reality and the media tries hard to persuade the perception of guns in society today. The manner and consistency in which guns are spoken of and reffered to in the articles is clear. Almost all of the articles and stories have a negative spin. Almost all of the articles lean left in their origin and tone. The message the public recieves is clear and, all too often, one-sided.

The stories do much in adressing the use of guns in a negative light and little to examine the morality of those wielding the guns in the articles. Look for yourself and make you own conclusion. I welcome your gun news comments.

I recently ordered a couple of new guns from my local gun shop. It may be a while until they come in, from what I am told. I ordered a 3 inch Ruger SP101 in the new .327 Federal Magnum caliber and a Ruger Hawkeye African in the .375 Ruger caliber. The seller tells me that the SP 101 in that make up is just now trickling out of the factory and that distributers are having a hard time stocking them for retailers, so I may be waiting a for more.
